Hi, I’m Mari Rubin
This section will be short and sweet, because this whole operation is not about me, it’s about you and all of the wonderful people who have made The Balance Room a reality. But, I’m sure you’re wondering who I am, where I come from, and why I love what I do.
I’m a Philly transplant, originally from New England. Growing up, I was never particularly athletic and I was never a dancer….trust me, you don’t want to see me dance! I just loved to move, and exercise became an important part of my life as a teenager because I loved how empowering it was; movement reminded me that I had agency over my body which made me feel strong and powerful. Discovering pilates amplified these feelings a few years later, and a good friend encouraged me to go through a teacher training course.
I originally became certified in Mat I & II through Balanced Body, and retook my mat certification along with a comprehensive 450-hour equipment training through Drexel Pilates under Jennifer Morley. I am a fully certified TRX trainer, and a Level I Movement for Trauma facilitator through Jane Clapp.
Ultimately, I’ve found throughout the years that there’s no such thing as balance, only balancing. My hope is that through movement, I can help you find the tools necessary to live the most genuine, authentic and vibrant life possible.
