Terms and Conditions.
The rules for using The Balance Room’s website and booking app, and for booking and buying from the studio. By using the site, creating an account or making a booking or purchase, you agree to them. The Balance Room, 501 Fitzwater Street and 811 S 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Questions go to hello@balancephl.com. How we handle your information is in the Privacy Policy.
Booking and cancelling
You can book a class until it starts, if a spot is open.
Cancel up to six hours before a class and your class credit goes back to your account. Inside six hours, you can still late cancel until the class starts: the spot is freed for someone else, but the class credit does not come back. Once a class has started it cannot be cancelled online.
When a class is full you can join its waitlist (up to five people). If a spot opens, the first person waiting is booked into it automatically and told. The class is paid with the credit or saved payment method chosen when joining. If that cannot cover it, the spot is still yours and the studio will arrange payment with you.
Buying
The Balance Room sells classes, class packs, memberships, private sessions, workshops and gift cards. Prices are shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe; card and bank numbers go to Stripe and never to this site.
You can pay by bank or by card. Paying by bank costs less. Both prices are shown before you pay, and the card price is never more than 3% above the bank price. A bank payment can take a few days to clear.
The pricing page shows how long each class pack lasts. Once a pack has expired, classes left on it cannot be booked. Some offers, such as the intro offer, are limited to one per person.
A membership renews automatically each billing period, at the price it was bought at, until it is cancelled. To pause or cancel a membership, contact the studio.
Gift cards do not expire and cannot be reloaded. A gift card can pay for all or part of a purchase.
For questions about refunds, missed classes or anything this page does not cover, contact the studio. Nothing on this page limits a right you have under the law.
The liability waiver
The studio’s Waiver and Release of Liability must be signed before your first class. New clients sign it when they create an account, and anyone without one on file is asked to sign it before booking or buying. It is a separate agreement, shown in full before you sign, and these terms do not change it.
Using this site
This site is for booking and general information about the studio. Nothing on it is medical advice. If you are injured, pregnant, recovering from surgery or unsure whether Pilates is right for you, ask your doctor, and tell your instructor before class.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for bookings and purchases made from your account.
Do not misuse the site: no scraping or bulk copying, no attempts to break in or overload it, no malware, and no false bookings or messages. The studio may close an account that does.
The words, photos, videos and design on this site belong to The Balance Room or the people who licensed them to it. Do not reuse them without permission.
Links to other sites and services (such as Google Maps, YouTube and the studio’s video library) are there for convenience. Their own terms apply, and the studio is not responsible for them.
Who runs this site
This site and its booking system are operated by The Balance Room LLC, which is the seller of every class, pack, membership, session and gift card on it. The booking system, FitKeyOS, is built and maintained by Fishtown Development on the studio’s behalf. Fishtown Development is not a party to any purchase or booking between you and the studio. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Disclaimers and limits
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will always be available, error free or up to date.
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Balance Room, its owners and staff, and its service providers, including Fishtown Development, which builds and maintains this website and booking system, are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss from using the site or the booking system, or from not being able to use them. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
If you misuse the site or break these terms, you agree to cover the studio’s and its service providers’ reasonable costs that result, including legal fees.
The legal part
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any dispute goes to the courts of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
The studio may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
